Sistrs for Power

Sistrs for Power, Inc, is a non-profit community service organization of young African-American women dedicated to the advancement and empowerment of of other women and girls of color

SISTRS means: Solidarity among women (young and old), the relationship of sisters; a female friend or protector regarded as a sister; having a close relationship with another because of shared interests. A union of interests and responsibilities.

POWER means: the ability to do or act; capability of doing or accomplishing something great, strength; might; force.

Young women of color should uplift and empower each other in understanding the value of their self worth, reaching life goals, striving for academic excellence and maintaining a healthy and satisfying life that embodies positive, healthy, and satisfying relationships and friendships.
